Texel.SizingStudy

The human body is changing as rapidly as the technology around us. In order to create better fitting clothing collections, designers and companies need more information about their real customer body metrics. This is where 3D scanning can make a difference. Our 3D scanners can be used to create 3D avatars of clients, which therefore helps to open up new opportunities for body data analytics.

Additional Capabilities

Our 3D surveys allow you to conduct additional research based on collected 3D models without the need for repeated 3D scanning of participants. As long as you have Internet connection, the obtained 3D-models can be accessed from anywhere in the worlds with a unique key for connecting via API.

Inside
the technology

Our structured light technology performs full body scans by using 4 sensors (Intel RealSense, 3D Systems Sense, Structure Sensor. Microsoft Kinect & Asus Xtion). The Texel Portal is capable of producing full body scans or 3D selfies in color in just 20 seconds. A detailed 3D model can then be viewed in 1 minute's time. Texel's competitive advantage lies in the Saas solution which includes a CRM software for improved business performance. Texel provides a unique cloud platform to allow users to monetize their digital products (the 3D models) which are generated in less than 3 minutes. The generated 3D models are then automatically published online, and can be accessed by the end users even from mobile devices.

Application

Fashion

Classic mannequins for apparel design and marketing are becoming outdated and are slowly replaced by a newer alternative - digital mannequins. These are based on 3D models of actual customers which allows brands to create clothing collections which are better fitting, and therefore more profitable. The accumulation of this body metrics data will help to segment and cater to the need of specific buyer segments who currently have a hard time finding clothing that fits them properly. This anthropometric data analysis, can therefore help brands to discover new growth opportunities.

Medicine

3D scanning can be a powerful tool for tracking the effects of a diet on one's body. It creates endless possibilities for preparing and gathering evidence for new methods of losing weight. For example, periodic 3D scanning can accurately monitor and record body changes throughout each stage of the study. Additionally, periodic 3D scanning of medication study participants can help to highlight any possible side effects that were not initially considered during the developmental stage of a new drug.
